Stephanie Rubin joined Texans Care for Children as CEO in 2015. She has a deep commitment to children and a record of success designing and implementing children's policy initiatives at the state and local level. Most recently, Stephanie was Senior Officer, Campaigns, for The Pew Charitable Trusts. As Senior Officer, she coordinated state policy and advocacy strategies across Pew's early education, health and justice policy initiatives. Previously, she was state program director of Pre-K Now, a 10-year national campaign supported by Pew and other funders, to increase access to quality pre-k across the country. Prior to joining Pre-K Now, Ms. Rubin led advocacy efforts to increase public investment in early education, after-school, mental health and child abuse prevention services at Fight Crime: Invest in Kids California. She has also served as Legislative Director to a California State Senator and Counsel to the Senate Select Committee on Higher Education in Sacramento, California. Ms. Rubin received her BA in History from Princeton University and her law degree from UCLA. Her volunteer activities include participating in election observation teams in Latin America, serving as a judge in a youthful offender diversion program and advocating for abused and neglected children as a Court Appointed Special Advocate.
