Today we are testifying on two bills in the Texas House that support infants and toddlers with disabilities and developmental delays. These bills focus on supporting children during the critical years of early brain development, when intervention is most effective.

HB 168 by Rep. Mary Gonzalez, which focuses on child care, would ensure that more children receive Early Childhood Intervention (ECI) services and reduce discrimination against children with disabilities. The bill is in the House Human Services Committee.

HB 843, by Rep. Ray Lopez, would strengthen ECI services for infants and toddlers by maximizing non-state revenue sources for the program. The bill is in the House Insurance Committee.
