We Urge the Governance Task Force to Acknowledge the Need for Additional Investment in Early Childhood Education and Care
The Governor’s Task Force on Governance of Early Childhood Education and Care is developing policy and budget recommendations for improving the way the state oversees pre-k, child care, and other early childhood programs across Texas.
We testified during the Task Force’s July meeting, highlighting that the goals outlined in their strategic framework — high-quality programs, affordable options for families, greater access, and a stable workforce — cannot be fully realized through governance reforms alone if the underlying resources remain inadequate.
