Our Director of Early Learning, David Feigen, testified to the Texas Senate Natural Resources and Economic Development Committee on November 14, 2024 as the Committee discussed ways to improve access to child care.
During his testimony, David shared this Texans Care for Children policy brief and this policy agenda from over 120 Texas organizations.
David’s testimony highlighted the importance of the child care scholarship program run by the Texas Workforce Commission and noted the long waitlist for the program. The policy agenda he shared with the Committee urges the Legislature to strengthen the scholarship program and reduce the waitlist, among other recommendations.
