Tell TX Leaders: Take Cuts for Kids and Families Off the Table!

Did you see the big article in the Houston Chronicle and San Antonio Express-News last week?

Or the article in the Texas Tribune this weekend? And the one that came out today in the Austin American-Statesman?

As we warned earlier in the summer, the articles report that state leaders are considering cutting women's health, Early Childhood Intervention (ECI) for toddlers with disabilities, child care safety, staff to enroll kids in Medicaid insurance, and more.

Will you join with us in urging the Governor, Lt. Governor, and the Legislature to take these cuts off the table and fully fund services — now and next session — for Texas kids and families?

Texas policymakers should be working to improve our state policies to support kids and families, not roll them back.

And given everything that Texas families are going through during this pandemic and jobs crisis, this is a particularly bad time to cut health services and other support for Texans.

Instead of these cuts, state leaders should tackle the state's revenue shortfall by using the Rainy Day Fund, urging Congress to provide additional Medicaid dollars and other funds to states, and exploring other ways to bring in new revenue.

Thank you for raising your voice to support Texas kids and families during these tough times!
