Children and the 81st Legislature: A Recap of the 2009 Texas Legislative Session

A new state council to improve children’s services, better mental health treatment for youth in the juvenile justice system, and new subsidies for relatives caring for children removed from abusive homes are among Texas’ most recent legislative victories for children.
