Voting

1. Know the calendar
   Know when and where campaigning and voting will occur. For voter registration and information, visit the Secretary of State's website: http://www.sos.state.tx.us/elections/index.shtml
2. Do your homework
   Become familiar with candidates' backgrounds, so you can decide where they stand on children's issues. For example, you'll want to know:
   
   • What issues have candidates focused on (in handouts, advertising, press releases and their websites)?
   • What community groups and media outlets have endorsed this candidate?
   • What past activities or positions indicate the candidates' leanings on your issue?

3. Vote!

   To register to vote and find your polling place, visit: http://www.votexas.org/
